If you are a woundcare nurse or a lymphoedema therapist you may have been in a situation where you want to keep control of your patient. You may have been of the mindset that the “other” person does not know enough about your speciality to really help the patient. Guess what? You are probably right.

This is the whole point – you cannot be an expert in everything, and it is absolutely the right thing to do for the patient to make sure that they have access to the best “treatment” team for their condition. I know…teaching granny to suck eggs here, but it doesn’t always happen.
